The most frequently asked questions I am asked that begin with WHY:
“Why do I have to go to the chiropractor SO. MANY.TIMES?”
“Why do I have to keep going back to the chiropractor?”
“Why should I even go to a chiropractor?”
My answer: You don’t HAVE to keep going back to the chiropractor if you don’t want to.
You don’t HAVE to go to a chiropractor if you don’t want to.
You don’t HAVE to do anything if you don’t want to.
The question I LOVE being asked once a person understands what chiropractic is and can do is:
“WHY haven’t I been told this before?”
My answer: I don’t know, but, I’m glad you’re here.
See, Gray’s Anatomy states on page 4 that the nervous system controls and coordinates every others system in our body.
I see many people who have misalignments in their neck region causing nerve interference to their ears, causing ear infections and vertigo, nerve interference to their head, causing headaches and migraines, nerve inference to their sinuses, causing allergies and sinusitis.
I also see many children in our office, on a regular basis, for these conditions.
I see people with misalignments in their mid-back region causing nerve interference to their heart, causing high blood pressure and irregular heartbeats, nerve interference to their lungs, causing asthma and breathing issues, nerve interference to their stomach causing GERD, acid reflux, gastric ulcers, and cramping after meals.
I see people with misalignments in their low-back region causing nerve interference to the digestive tract, causing Diverticulitis, diarrhea, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease, ulcerative colitis and constipation. Nerve interference to their kidneys and bladder, causing recurring stones and infections. Nerve interference to their reproductive organs, for men and women we see infertility, and for women this can cause irregular cycles, extensive cramping and infertility. We see men for issues like prostate problems and erectile dysfunction.
All of these nerves also go to every muscle and joint in the body causing numbness, tingling, aches and pains.
I am concerned about your aches and pains but I am more concerned about your overall function, because pain is the last symptom to come and the first to go away. If we have proper structure than we will have proper function.
Does that make sense?
How do we have subluxations?
One word: STRESS
Every day we have physical stresses such as sitting, working on a computer, bending and twisting, car accidents, slips and falls, sports injuries, or traumatic birth. Big or small, these stresses add up and take a toll on our body!
Every day we have chemical stresses such as GMO’s, processed foods, sugar, caffeine, coffee, the environment, and medications.
Every day we have emotional stresses such as relationships, financial worries, our careers, and our friends/family.
These are also known as the 3 T’s that cause subluxation: Traumas, Toxins and Thoughts.
When we get adjusted, we are addressing the root cause of the problem. In American we are taught that healing starts from the Outside-In by putting things into your body to get healthy. If you take a drug it covers up a symptom so the problems always comes back.
Chiropractic adjustments are addressing the nervous system, so the nervous system can start to function properly. So you can start to heal from the inside out. But, healing takes time. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and our bodies can’t heal in a day. So, when you first visit a chiropractor they may recommend a care plan with 3 visits per week for 4 weeks
Specific, scientific chiropractic adjustments to gently realign the bones, restoring the flow of life from Above-Down-Inside-Out. I have a saying in the office that Rome wasn’t built in a day, symptoms don’t arise in a day and healing doesn’t happen in a day…healing takes time and repetition.
Proper structure=Proper function.
When you live your life through your nervous system, why wouldn’t you keep going to the chiropractor?
Tomorrow we will be diving more into the “WHY” of chiropractic care.
