How Do I Eliminate Stress with Chiropractic Adjustments?

Millions of Americans feel the negative effects of stress every day. In fact, many Americans suffer from chronic stress. Chronic stress can lead to severe health problems¹, such as:

  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Muscle Tension
  • Bowel Problems

There are many possible causes of stress.
They can be physical (car accident, repetitive motion), emotional (deadlines, death in the family), or even chemical (too much caffeine, hormonal imbalance). If you are stressed, it’s important that you do whatever you can to avoid the negative effects. Thankfully, there are also many ways to help relieve stress.

One important way to relieve stress is with chiropractic adjustments. Being a licensed chiropractic doctor, Dr. Erica is very much aware of the benefits of chiropractic treatments. She’s experienced and seen first hand, the positive results of receiving chiropractic adjustments.

Chiropractic Adjustments

When you go for an exam, the chiropractor will ask you questions to determine what particular issues are contributing to your stress and discomfort. The chiropractor can then lay out a plan to eliminate those issues through regular chiropractic adjustments. This is usually in the form of an adjustment. Although that term may sound scary, it is really just a therapeutic intervention performed on the joints along the spine.

Benefits of Receiving Chiropractic Adjustments:

  • Pain relief with one-time or regular adjustments
  • Reduced stress with regular adjustments
  • Lower blood pressure with chiropractic adjustments
  • Facilitate proper bowel functions
  • Relief from lower back pain
Did You Know?

  • Most chiropractic adjustments take less than 20 minutes
  • Anxiety and stress are notorious for attacking the weak spots of the spine²

Chiropractic is gaining momentum and acceptance in mainstream healthcare, lately. In 1990, medical practitioners were no longer restricted from collaborating with chiropractors. The chiropractic practices are even recommended by medical physicians. It’s even been shown that in some cases the chiropractic adjustment present cost-effective method of treatment.³ It’s non-invasive and can increase your overall health, making your body better able to fight off other maladies.

How to Eliminate Stress With Chiropractic

  • Chiropractic adjustments removes interference in the nervous system, allowing the nerves to function and the body to heal properly.
  • Exercises to maintain your spinal health.
  • Possibly the recommendation of massage and lifestyle changes that could include switching to ergonomic furniture and tools.
  • Proper diet and rest should be complimented with regular chiropractic adjustments to help keep your body free of physical reactions to stress.

The Scary Truth About Pain Killers & An Effective Alternative

Pain medications have too many negative side effects.

All too often we hear stories about celebrities and young people who overdose on pain medications and other addictive drugs, or people who lose their friends and loved ones – in mind, spirit and body – to pain-pill addiction.

Painkillers have so many negative side effects—addiction and death being the worst. Yet, addiction is just one end of the spectrum. As many of you can attest to, drugs don’t always mean addiction and death – but that doesn’t mean prescription drugs aren’t bad for you.

Below are just some of the common, negative side effects of pain medications:

·      Inducement of lengthy sleep

·      Dizziness

·      Headaches

·      Burning sensations in your eyes

·      Disorientation

·      Addiction

·      Sleepiness/Fatigue

·      Indigestions

·      Vulnerability to infection

·      Ulcers

·      Kidney problems

·      Wild mood swings

·      Changes in appetite

However, despite all those proven side effects—despite the fact that millions do die each year of painkiller overdose—and despite numerous studies that prove pain medications have no real benefits—doctors continue to prescribe them and, unfortunately, patients continue to rely on them.

But they shouldn’t! There IS an alternative.

Chiropractic is a safe and effective alternative to pain medications—an alternative that heals without putting you in danger. Chiropractic has been known to reduce, eliminate and even prevent pain. But, even though it’s been proven effective time and time again, so many people distrust chiropractic as a proper form of treatment, and they choose to put themselves at the mercy of pain medications rather than test the proven benefits of chiropractic care.

If you’re someone who is skeptical as to the effectiveness of chiropractic – but if you’re also someone who is wising up to the very real dangers of prescription drugs – visit to learn everything you need to know to make the best decisions for you and your loved ones.

Stop Chronic Nosebleeds With Chiropractic Care

Does your child wake up nightly with nosebleeds? Do they get them unexpectedly throughout the day? Does the slightest touch to the nose have it gushing like a fountain? Do YOU suffer from chronic nosebleeds?

Nosebleeds are common, and many people will write them off as a cause of dehydration or dry weather, but when they occur on a rainy day, when you or your child has had plenty of water to drink, doing so is not so easy …

Epistaxis is the clinical name for nosebleeds, and while most individuals who DON’T experience chronic nosebleeds would write this condition off as non-severe or even made up, people who suffer from it know better, and they know that frequent nosebleeds can really get in the way of daily living. In fact, it can be so problematic that they’ll go through rigorous efforts to keep them from happening again; some even go so far as to cauterize the insides of their nostrils with silver nitrate!

You do not have to go to these extremes if you or a loved one suffers from Epistaxis. No, the solution is much simpler than that. With specific and scientific chiropractic care, you can eliminate frequent nosebleeds entirely. No more will you have to wake up to stop the blood before it stains the carpets – no more will you have to reassure your child that the blood does not mean they’re hurt – no more will you have to throw away shirts because of stains that won’t wash out. With chiropractic care you can finally start living, and stop worrying about when your nose is going to start bleeding

Menstrual Cramps Are NOT Something You Have To Live With

If you clicked on this link it’s because you know how severe and disruptive menstrual cramps can be. For many women, menstrual cramps are slight – they feel like a light pressure in the stomach, on the ovaries and in the lower back area. However, for just as many others, menstrual cramps feel like a ripping open of the stomach – like an inferno raging within the core. For these women, one to two days a month are spent bent over in pain, or in the fetal position, with the only thoughts being, “please God, make it stop.” If you’re reading this, it’s because your cramps are the latter.

Sure, you can take Advil or Midol to relieve the pain – but these only work for up to four hours, and sometimes, you need to take double to dose to feel any difference. For the first two days of your menstrual cycle, you could be looking at up to 24 pills. 24! That’s 288 pills a year! Now, even ONE Advil pill is damaging to your body, but 288? Not only are you thinning your blood each time you take one, but you’re increasing your risk for heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure as well. And you’re not even really doing anything to correct the problem.

So, what does work?

Specific and scientific chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care can make sure that the connection between the spinal column and the sexual organ is a proper one, thereby ensuring that the said sexual organ functions the way it’s supposed to.

Chiropractic for Ear Infections—really?

By the age of three, over two thirds of all children have had one or more episodes of otitis media or middle ear infection. There are numerous problems with antibiotic usage for children with ear infections such as: allergic reactions, GI upset, destruction of the gut’s intestinal flora leading to yeast proliferation and antibiotic resistance. Tubes in the ears have a 98% recurrence of infection within two months while 25% of those with tubes suffer from hearing loss years later.

Here are a excerpts from published research:

Case History Bofshever, H. Coral Springs, FL. ICPA Newsletter Nov/Dec 1999.

“An upset father presented to my office on 4-30-99, with his 9 year old son, who has been having chronic ear infections.”

So begins this case history. The boy had been having ear infections since he was 3 and they had been getting “progressively worse.” Five years prior tubes were put in his ears. The child was scheduled for another ear surgery and to have his swollen tonsils and adenoids removed. Child had been “on and off antibiotics at least every six weeks for the past six years.”

Chiropractic examination revealed subluxation complexes at C2 and C6. After the second adjustment father commented that the boy is “much more alert and is concentrating better at school.” Teachers noticed the improvement.” The boy stopped complaining about his ears after the first adjustment. At a six week evaluation there was no ear effusion in either ear. Tonsils and adenoids were normal size. ENT (ear nose and throat) doctor cancelled surgery. After 5 months, the child has had no ear infections, no sore throats, no colds, no flu and has been on no medications.

Chiropractic care of 401 children with otitis media: a pilot study. Fallon and Edelman. Alternative Therapies March 1998 4(2):93

There is a strong correlation between chiropractic adjustments and the resolution of otitis media for the children in this study, Chiropractors do not treat otitis media or any other malady, rather we correct the cause of the vertebral subluxation and allow the power that made the body heals the body. It happens no other way.

Case study: chiropractic results with a child with recurring otitis media accompanied by effusion. Peet, JB Chiropractic Pediatrics, 1996;2:8-10.

This is the study of a 5 year-old male who had recurring ear infections every three to six weeks for the previous two years. He had been on antibiotic therapy. The child began chiropractic care and for the next six month period had only one infection.

When it comes to ear infections, I urge you to consider chiropractic care for you and your family.
I, personally have experienced both “sides” of treatment for ear infections. Growing up I suffered from chronic ear infections. Multiple rounds of antibiotics, 5 sets of tubes, and slight hearing loss; I now get adjusted when I have ear pain or an ear infection.

Chiropractic adjustments release pressure that is put on the eustachian tube, and the ear is able to drain. When the ears drain, the eustachian tube is able to heal, thus no ear pain.

I encourage you, the next time you or you spouse or child have ear pain or an ear infection, try chiropractic first!

Vitamin D–Are you getting enough?

Would you believe that the majority of the population- up to 90% of adults in the United States- is believed to have a Vitamin D deficiency? Many physicians are starting to take this vitamin deficiency very seriously; in fact Vitamin D is one of the most recommended supplements by physicians today.

Most adults are believed to be at least somewhat deficient in Vitamin D, however, people with dark skin, who live in northern regions of the world where less year-round sun exposure is experienced, and those who are overweight have an even greaterchance to be deficient.

According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), the newest statistics demonstrate that more than 90% of people with darker skin pigments (Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians) living in the United States now suffer from Vitamin D insufficiency, while 75% of the white population is deficient. (1)

As the population of overweight and obese adults and children has risen steadily over the past several decades, so has the incidence of Vitamin D deficiency symptoms. Sadly, this Vitamin D deficiency is correlated with increased risks of developing common cancers, autoimmune diseases, hypertension, and various infectious diseases too. (2)

What is Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin that is stored in the liver and fatty tissues. This means that increased body fat has the ability to absorb Vitamin D and keep it from being used within our body. Vitamin D is somewhat different than other vitamins because our body makes most of our Vitamin D on its own, rather than solely relying on food sources.

The way that our bodies make Vitamin D is to convert sunshine into chemicals that are used by the body. The cholesterol in our skin converts “previtamin D” and makes it into usable vitamin D3 which is sometimes also called provitamin D (3). Previtamin Ds first travels through the kidneys and liver in the blood stream, and then is converted into a biologically active and usable substance called calcitriol.

Vitamin D actually becomes a hormone within our body, particularly a secosteroid hormone. What we know as Vitamin D is really a precursor to a steroid hormone. It impacts not only our skeletal structure, but also our blood pressure, immunity, mood, brain function, and ability to protect ourselves from cancer. (4)
